Half Term Week

Last week was half term for me and normally that means loads of school work and an absolutely boring week, but i actually made something of it this week and did quite a few different things that i thought id share with the world this week in a little lifestyle blog post.  My week included starting up my very first tropical fish tank, baking some different cakes, a trip to London with the family to visit my sister., and I also went shopping, which i will be doing a haul post over the next week separately. Hope you enjoy all the pictures.

The three fish, which now unfortunately are only 2, as one escaped and died over night. I have had so many problems with these fish as they like to jump from the tank with out reason to do so. Luckily i still have 2 left and will be adding to them shortly. Benny the yellow guppy unfortunately died but i still have Feliks the snake skin guppy, and Oscar the orange one.

These were the cakes i made during the week, Left is coffee cake with chocolate icing swirled on top, and right is carrot cake with icing sugar dusted over them.

Finally was the trip to London on Sunday, We took the boat down to Greenwich, and went to Greenwich park, stopped at a cafe rouge for lunch, i had the burger and it was amazing, We then went to the shard later at night to look out over London where the views were amazing and sat with our glass of wine. On the train journey home i couldn't go with out some doughnuts to keep me company.

MUA Make-up Haul

This month i have tried not to spend any money on make-up as I needed to start saving for practical things, you know like those pet fish i bought woops, but obviously you can't go without buying a little something so I limited myself to some things from MUA as i don't feel as bad knowing its cheaper than a high end brand but I feel just as good and some of my favourite products, so i wanted to share these with you.

Velvet Lip Lacquer - Atomic - Right
This is a very bright red, orange colour which is amazing but now think i may regret it slightly as it is definitely bold and bright but still lovely none the less. It has a great pigment and the texture is glossy when applying and dries nicely to a matte texture. It also has great staying power all day and is quite tough to remove but I think this is a good thing.

Plumping Lipgloss - Buff - Left
This is a very neutral tone which is great for everyday if you like to wear something but don't want to go too bold. It has a glossy shine to it without leaving your lips too wet or too sticky, the consistency is great. The colour is not bold but good for all day shine and last fairly well.

Liptick - Shade 11 - Left
My final lip product is the £1 lipstick, this is so cheap and one of my favourite lipsticks and shade. It is again a neutral shade or brown with a slight pink tone but with less shine and more pigment than the gloss if you're looking for something with more colour. Staying power is not too bad, I would apply after eating with this one but that's expected to some extent.

Blush - bubblegum - Right
This blusher is actually a brighter pink than the picture, it doesn't do it any justice but I couldn't get a better one so left it at that. I love the colour of this but will never wear it full on and always blend it out to make it a softer pink, put applies and blends great on the skin for a lovely finish to any look.

Favourite Bath Products

Lately I have been in the mood for relaxing and trying to take a break from all the school work and stress so what better way to do it than having a bath. Hot water, loads of bubbles and a lovely scent is the best way for relaxing so I wanted to share some of my favourite products I like to use with you.

For the actual bath itself i used bath soak from dirty works, I had this given to me but i think you can buy it from drug stores likes boots or some supermarkets. There is no scent to it so good for anyone with sensitive skin as some bubble baths can be irritating, but it does create lots of bubbles which is nice.

I also love a good bath bomb to add too, one for the scent and also because thy change your water, the ones i have at the moment i actually got from my local garden center, they were only 10 for £2 as they're are rather small but quite effective, They all have different scents from lemon, coconut, rose, jasmine and lots more, I used the green one which i can not remember the exact scent but i know they're all nice and it changed the colour of my water quite green which is always fun.

During a bath i love a good body scrub and again from the same set i have the body scrub from dirty works, It works really well with exfoliating the body and getting rid of any dry skin.

Finally after a nice bath is always good to moisturize, I have a set of three different ones from the Calcot Manor collection, you can buy these from your local supermarket. There are three different types, the perfect day, the lazy evening and the de-stress. I have used all three and are all good, but my favourite is the moisture souffle from the lazy evening range, It works really well to moisturize the skin and smells amazing as it is infused with chamomile and sweet fig.

Valentines Week - Heart Shaped Biscuits

As it is valentines week, you may know I'm posting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and for today i'm showing you how to make some lovely heart shaped biscuits covered in chocolate. These could be used as a gift for someone, or if you're like me and haven't got a valentine, you could make them for your best friend or family like i did.

This is just a plain biscuit recipe that is super easy to make, but you could add different flavours to make them a bit more exciting if you'd like.

You will need:
- Margerine/butter - 100g
- Caster sugar - 50g
- Plain flour - 125g
- Chocolate for decorating

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 160oc.
2. Line a baking tray to stop biscuits sticking, I like to use a small dust of flour on each one.
3. Cream the butter and sugar together.
4. Mix in the flour, and then bring together using your hands to knead into a ball.
5. Roll out to about 1cm thick and cut out your shapes placing them on the baking tray.
6. Place in the oven and cook for about 10-15 minutes.
7. After cooked take out and place on cooling rack until completely cool.
8. Melt your selected chocolate in a bowl, I did mine in the microwave, but you can melt it over boiling water on the hob too, be careful not to burn it or yourself as this happened with my white chocolate.
9. Decorate you biscuits however you wish and leave to cool.
